“ZARTNIR” Monitoring Progress Report of March 2011

In the 5th of March a meeting was held between the administration staff of the “Computer for All” project, GCCI and Computer Centers’ owners of “Zartnir” network. The representatives of the “Computer for All” project visited the Computer Centers in Gegharkunik and Tavush Marzes. "Computer for All” project aims to increase the level of computers’ usage in Armenia by offering computers equipped with modern software packages and buying them with reachable lending solutions. The pilot version of the “Computer for All” project was established in 2009. Currently the project is cooperating with computer sale stores in Yerevan, Gyumri and Vanadzor. The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss cooperation opportunities and make the project accessible for rural communities where “Zartnir” Computer Centers operate. The main result of the meeting was the preliminary agreement between Project representatives and Computer Centers’ owners. For the next step the Computer Centers’ owners filled up an application in the project’s official site, after which the project’s representatives are planning to meet the Computer Centers’ owners and sign contracts with them. Along with computer sales the Computer Centers’ owners decided to include “Basic computer skills” training package as well.

The projects implemented by GCCI in Vardenik and Sarukhan communities are operating according to business plans. The borrowers make repayments properly, which is presented in appendix 1.
